Sewing tutorial-41. R85 sewing pattern

 


1.Blouse

Serge the edge line of frill. 

Fold 0.6cm(1/4”) concealing the cut edge and press. Sew the hem as shown.


 Sew a parallel row of long(gathering) stitches around the frill. 
(Stitch length long, tension low/loose)

Gathering the frill. 

 Stitch the frills to the bodice with right sides together as shown. 

Fold 1cm(3/8") of side edges and bottom edge of front panel.

Pin the front and front panel pieces together. 
Edgestitch them together.

Pin and sew the shoulders  of front and back together with  right sides of fabric together. 

Press seams open. 


Repeat with lining pieces as shown.
Pin and sew the shoulders of front and back together with  right sides of fabric together. 
Press seams open. 

You should have 2 seperate  fronts and backs now (one is outer fabric, the other one is lining fabric).  Now with the right sides of the  fronts and backs facing each other,  sew along the neck line and front and arm hole line as shown. 
The things that will be left unsewn is the hem line and side lines. 

Trim the points on any sharp  angles.


Through the back hem line, turn  the piece right-side-out.
 Press the edges as shown.

Top stitch along the neck line.

Fold vest together properly, with the right sides out, matching up the side seams.
 Pin together side seams, with the lining right sides together and the outer fabric right sides together. You will need to  lift up the outer fabric front and back over the armsyce seam to be able to pin them. Sew. 
Repeat for both sides. Press.

 Make the button holes as shown. 

Sew the baste stitch of the bottom edges. 
Using your CF (center front line) as a guide,  lay your one piece overlapping the the other piece and pin  in place. Sew the baste stitch. 

Sew a parallel row of long (gathering) stitches around the waist line of skirt.
 (Stitch length long, tension low/loose) 

To gather the skirt fabric simply hold the fabric still in one hand and pull one of the loose threads with the other.   Do this on both sides until your skirt is the same width as the each waist. 

Repeat with the other piece. 

Face the right sides of skirt together. Pin on and stitch along the side lines.  
Serge or zigzag red line at the edge as shown.  Press seams towards back.

Match the skirt to bodice waist line with right sides  together as picture shown.

Align the skirt and bodice right sides together. 
Pin all the way around  waist line and sew as shown. 
 Serge or do zigzag the raw edge.

On the wrong side of hem, fold twice concealing the cut edge and press. 
Sew the hem of skirt as shown. 


2. Dress

Sew a parallel row of long (gathering) stitches around the top edge line of frill.

 (Stitch length long, tension low/loose) 
 To gather the frill fabric simply hold the fabric still in one hand and pull one of the loose threads with the other.   Do this on both sides until your frill is the same width as the each bottom edge of skirt. Repeat with the other piece. 

Face the right sides of frill together. Pin on and stitch along the side lines.  Serge or zigzag red line at the edge as shown.  Press seams towards back.

On the wrong side of frill,  fold twice concealing the cut edge and press.  Sew the hem as shown.  


3. Short romper

Sew a parallel row of long(gathering) stitches around the romper. 
To gather the front romper pants simply hold the fabric still in one hand and pull  one of the loose threads with the other.


Apply interfacing to the wrong side of snap button placket (2.5cm/1” wide). 
Face the right sides of front romper pants and back romper pants together. Pin on and stitch along the side lines. Serge or zigzag red line at the edge as shown. Press seams towards back. 

Serge or do zigzag the raw edge of leg line as shown. 
On the wrong side of leg line, fold 1.25cm(1/2inch) concealing the cut edge and press  as shown.
 And edge stitch along the leg line as shown.

Pull the elastic band trough the tunnel with the help of a safety pin. Do a small stitch the elasticband to the  begining and end of leg line at both sides to fix as picture shown.
 And Serge or do zigzag the raw edge of snap button placket.

On the wrong side of placket, fold 2.5cm(5/8 inch)once  concealing the cut edge and press. 
Sew the croth line as shown. Repeat with the other side.    


 Match the romper to bodice waist line with right sides together as picture shown.

Align the romper and bodice right sides together. 

Pin all the way around  waist line and sew as shown.  Serge or do zigzag the raw edge.


 Add snaps to the front and back placket.  

4. Pants
Serge or overlook the front pants and back  pants as shown.

Face the right sides of front and back together. 
Pin on and stitch along the side lines.
Stop stitching until slit starts.

Press seams open.

Top stitch as shown.

Pin on and stitch from crotch to the both ankle hem.



Once you sew the inner leg portion of the pants, flip one of the legs right side out.

Tuck the pant leg that’s right side out inside the wrong side out pant leg with the crotch part lined up.

The two pant legs should have the right sides touching.

Pin the curves together and sew one big U that’s the curve. This is the curve that’s from the crotch to the top of the waist,

Finish seam if desired with a serger, zigzag stitch or pinking shears.




Press center front for making front flat as shown .
 Top stitch the red lines to the right side of front as shown

Face the right sides of waist bands . Stitch as shown, keeping opening unstitched. 

Fold waist band half. Press it along. 
Face both right sides of pants and waistband. 

Make sure both center and side lines are matched.  

Stitch them on and zig zag or serge the seam allowance.


Insert elastic band into the opening. Band fits firmly around waist. 
Overlap at ends and sew to secure as shown.
 Hand sewing the opening shut.

On the wrong side of hem, fold twice concealing the cut edge and press. 
Sew the hem of pants as shown.
