Sewing tutorial-31. R75 sewing pattern

 1. Dress

(1)Apply interfacing to the  wrong side of back button placket 4cm(1+1/2”) wide. 

(2) Fold the 1cm(3/8”) from  the raw edge to the wrong side 

 and  fold and press 3cm(1+1/4”) to the wrong side again.  Repeat with the other piece.  

(3) Pin and sew the shoulders  of front and back together with  right sides of fabric together. Serge or zigzag stitch the  shoulders together as shown.  

Press seams towards the front. 

 (4) Sew a parallel row of long(gathering) stitches around the top sleeve.
(Stitch length long, tension low/loose) 

(5) Gathering the top edge of sleeve. 

(6) Stitch sleeves and armhole together as shown. Serge them together. 


(7) On the wrong side of sleeves, fold twice concealing the  cut edge and press.
 Sew the hem of sleeve as shown. 

(8) 1. Mark elastic placement line on inside of garment piece.  2. Place no cut elastic over marked line on wrong side of fabric.  3.Stitch over elastic. Stretch elastic while stitching.  When you reach the mark, simply continue stitching over elastic.   

(9) Pin and stitch the front and back together as shown, right sides of fabric together.  
Serge or overlock them together. 


(10) Serge or zigzag stitch the side edge and bottom edge of collar as shown. 
(11) Fold the 2cm(3/4”) from the bottom edge to the wrong side of collar. 
Then edge stitch the fold line. 

(12) Fold the 2cm(3/4”) from the both side edge to the wrong side of collar. 
Then edge stitch the fold line. 


(13)  Fold your pleats and press, then pin – as indicated by the arrows in the diagram. 
 Machine baste your pleat in place as shown.

(14) Then fold the 1cm(3/8”) from the raw edge of back(button placket) to the wrong side.  
Then the fold  3cm(1.2inch) to the to the right side as shown. Then pin them for fixing.


(15) Then face the right side of bodice and wrong side of collar together. Match the top edge of collar and bodice  as shown. Stitch collar and bodice together as shown. Serge them together. 

(16) Trim the points on sharp angles  as shown. 



(17) Turn the back(button placket)  inside out. Then press the seams down along the neck line 
and pin seams down. Edge stitch the seam as shown.

(18) Using your CB (center back line) as a guide,  lay your left piece overlapping the right piece  and pin  in place. Sew the baste stitch. 
 (19) Sew a two parallel row of long(gathering) stitches around the front & back skirt.

(20) To gather the dress fabric simply hold the fabric still in one hand and pull one of the loose threads with the other.   Do this on both sides until your dress is the same width as the front or back bottom edge.

(21) Face the right sides of skirt together. Pin on and stitch along the side lines.  Serge or zigzag red line at the edge as shown.  Press seams towards back.


(22) Match the skirt to bodice waist line with right sides  together as picture shown. 

(23) Align the skirt and bodice right sides together. Pin all the way around  waist line and sew as shown.  Serge or do zigzag the raw edge.


(24) On the wrong side of skirt,  fold twice concealing the cut edge and press.  Sew the hem as shown.  

(25) Make the button holes as shown. 
Hand stitch the buttons.

2. Blouse

Do from step(1) to step(17) as Dress.
 
(18) Then fold  3cm(1+1/4”) of button placket to the to the right side as shown. 

(19)Stitch the button placket 3cm(1+1/4” ) from the bottom edge. Repeat with the other side.

(20) Trim the points on sharp angles as shown.

(21) Turn the back(button placket) inside out. 
Then On the wrong side of bodice, fold hem twice concealing the cut edge  and press. 




(22) Sew the hem as shown.    

(23) Then edge stitch button placket as shown. Repeat with the other piece. 

(24) Make the button holes as shown. 

(25) Hand stitch the buttons as shown.
